It's never been easy to confess his own feelings, especially in front of a crowd like this. Even though they're guests are all friends and close acquaintances, he can't help feeling a little foolish in being so openly sentimental. ]
Miles... I will admit that when I first met you, I did not anticipate standing here with you like this. Even through the months of friendship we shared, I had told myself repeatedly that this would all somehow be taken away from us or that eventually we would grow apart on this island with so many of the curses compromising our commitment to one another and temptations appearing at every corner. As time went on, I realized how harder it would be to say goodbye to you and to lose you.

For a moment he doesn't know how to start, fearful that he might be overcome with doubt or stumble upon his words but- he steadies himself, feeling the confidence he needs by looking into those eyes that hold so much warmth for him.
